Meet the Candidates for the March Election

Candidates for Office
 
Becca Good CST, CSFA, FAST 
 
Running for: Secretary  
Years in AST:  30 years 
Current position:  Secretary
Previous ISA offices held: Board of Director, Secretary 
Goals and Candidate Statement: Becca has been a committed member of the Association of Surgical Technologists since 1996 and has served as a strong advocate for the profession for three decades. Her leadership experience includes service within both the Tennessee State Assembly and the Illinois State Assembly, where she has contributed as an active board member and as Secretary.Becca works as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) traveler, bringing extensive clinical expertise from diverse surgical environments. She is dual‑credentialed as a CSFA and CST and holds the distinguished honor of FAST recognition. Her national service includes two terms on the NBSTSA Exam Review Committee, further demonstrating her dedication to advancing the profession.
Becca is known for her reliability, accuracy, and clear communication — qualities that have made her an effective and trusted Secretary. She is seeking another term to continue providing dependable leadership, transparent communication, and dedicated support to surgical technologists across Illinois.


Sherry Fulk, AAS, CST

Running for:  ISA Board of Director 
Years in AST: 19 years 
Current Position: N/A 
Previous ISA offices held: Board of Director  
Goals and Candidate Statement: Sherry is a graduate of the Illinois Central College Surgical Technology Program and has been an AST member since 2007. Her clinical experience includes UnityPoint Health, Carle Health, OSF HealthCare, and private practice with Peoria Ear, Nose, and Throat. 
Sherry has a long record of service within the Illinois State Assembly, including her work as an active board member and director. She is known for her professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to patient safety. 
Sherry is running for the ISA Board of Directors to continue supporting surgical technologists across Illinois and to strengthen education, advocacy, and professional growth within the profession.

Keiton Hamilton, AAS, CST   

Running for: ISA Board of Directors 
Years in AST: 5 years 
Current Position: N/A 
Goals and Candidate Statement:  
Keiton is a dedicated surgical technologist and leader with a strong commitment to service, education, and professional growth. He is a U.S. Navy veteran who earned his Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential during his service, where he began his career in orthopedics. While stationed at his assigned hospital, he expanded his clinical experience across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, ENT, general surgery, urology, and ophthalmology. 
  
Following his honorable discharge, Keiton relocated to Peoria, Illinois, where he now serves on the Pediatric/Congenital and Adult Open-Heart surgical team. He also previously worked at the Center for Health Ambulatory Surgery Center in Peoria, continuing his work in orthopedics while also supporting supply operations during a leadership transition. 
  
In addition to his clinical experience, Keiton has demonstrated extensive leadership in academic and professional organizations. At Illinois Central College, he served as Vice President of Leadership and later President of the Upsilon Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, holding the presidency for two years. He also served as Vice President of the Central District and currently serves as President of the Illinois Region of Phi Theta Kappa. He also had the honor of delivering the Illinois Central College commencement address to approximately 4,000 guests. 
  
During his time at ICC, Keiton helped revitalize the Pre-Health Club, serving as its President, and held additional leadership roles including Treasurer of the SAFE Club and Vice President of the Student Government Association. He also played a key role in establishing a Student Veterans of America chapter at Indiana State University, where he served as Secretary and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree with plans to attend a Physician Assistant master’s program. He is also a member of The Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.
